Oris introduces a 1,000-piece limited-edition of the Big Crown pilot's watch powered by Calibre 401 in support of the aeronautical charity Wings of Hope.
It has a 40.00 mm stainless steel case, water resistance 5 bar and the movement is visible through a sapphire crystal case back.
The Calibre 401 is an automatic movement with a five-day power reserve, high levels of anti-magnetism.
Swiss watch movements can magnetise, affecting accuracy. Oris's Calibre 400+ Series, engineered with over 30 non-ferrous, anti-magnetic components, is highly anti-magnetic. Calibre 401 deviated less than 10 seconds a day after exposure to 2,250 gauss.
Calibre 401, designed for intermittent wear, has a five-day power reserve. It uses twin barrels with extended mainsprings, each storing two-and-a-half days of power. It's highly accurate, to -3/+5 seconds a day, surpassing a chronometer.
